How Do You Prepare Your Blog?

Putting together a blog takes time and fore thought. Whether you are writing details to a recipe, or the parts of a story, or letting your readers know of a good book you discovered. There are things you can do to make sure you capture all the pieces. Some people may keep journals; others may keep some sort of notes in folders. Everything depends on how you work. If you are struggling with putting together your own blog this may document may be of some help to you.

I call this document a Blog Preparation Form.  Here is how to use it:
Subject Line: This is where you place the title of your blog
Date: This is the date you intend to publish your blog
Publish Date: The actual Publish Date
Main Topic: This is what the subject of the blog will be about
Sub Topic: This is for any secondary subjects you may include that you want to include that may or may not have anything to do with the main topic. You may have more than one.
Image 1, 2, 3: Images - You may have more than 3 images but in general I just included 3 on this form.
Story: Here is where you may want to write down what story you wish to include in your blog, little or big. Something about how you ended up included this particular topic in your blog. How it is special to you. Maybe why you wanted to share. A way to make a connection to your readers.
Layout: It helps to draw out how you wish to layout your blog if you are doing a step by step process. Sometimes this can help you give you more of an idea of how to handle your images.
Ideas for Your Next Blog: I put this on this form because often when you are working on a blog you can come up with ideas for your next blog while you are working on your latest you.

Roast Chicken is in Vogue

Here is a chicken recipe I believe Julia Child would love! It is flavored with the one item every dish can't live without - Butter!

This particular recipe is from Food in Vogue by Maxime de La Falaise. It has recipes from David Niven, Vidal Sassoon, Jimmy Duraante, Jacqueline Onassis, Bill Blass, Yogi Berra, Bob Hope, Princess Grace of Monaco, Bing Crosby and many others. The book has copywrites from 1942 to 1981.

This particular recipe belongs to This particular recipe belongs to Kitty Carlisle Hart. She was a spokeswoman for the arts and a regular panelist on the television game show, To Tell the Truth. 

This recipe is quite interesting. What makes it different than most is the instruction to turn the chicken on its side and cook it for 10 minutes, and then turn it to the other side and cook it for 10 minutes. And when you are done roasting this chicken you put it under the broiler.  Maybe this chicken dish was created before the invention of the rotisserie. This recipe has technique.

 

This chicken is moist and juicy because of all that lovely butter.

Barefoot in the Park at the Ivoryton Playhouse

If you love the work of Neil Simon, then you should make a trip to the Ivoryton Playhouse to see Barefoot in the Park. This play is directed by Bruce Connolly who was  in last season's Barnum and Finnian's Rainbow.. 

The story is based on Neil Simon's first marriage.
Kathleen Mulready plays Corie who was recently seen in The Irish And How They Got That Way. Corie is all about fun and risk and being the housewife, but wouldn't you be too, if this was your first marriage and Kathleen does a wonderful job at getting the message across.
Sean Patrick Hopkins is Paul, the conservative lawyer, and first time husband.  He definitely fills the shoes of Robert Redford in this play. 
This show can definitely take people back especially since this is a household with only one telephone and no computer.   Those were the days. .. To climb up all those steps the best way to communicate would be with cell phones. 
Get out to the theater and see Barefoot in the Park. Go see those frozen skinny lovers who live on 49 West 10th Street.  The show is excellent.

How the Other Half Loves

How The Other Half Loves By Alan Ayckbourn is playing at the Ivoryton Playhouse from April 13 to May 1.  If you enjoy British humor concerning sordid affairs you will love how this show plays out.

The show is directed by Lawrence Thelen who directed Driving Miss Daisy, and The Odd Couple which were shows part of the 2010 season.

Jacqueline Hubbard, who is the Artistic Director and has been with the theater for twenty years plays Fiona Foster.

Beverley Taylor plays Theresa Phillips, and when you don't see her on stage she is busy working as the Company Manager.  She also played Charity is last season's Barnum.

Bill Kux plays Frank Foster, Fiona's husband.. He is a graduate of Yale and has been on the television series Gossip Girl and Law and Order.

Nick Stevenson plays Bob Phillips, Theresa's husband. Nick has done a lot of theater all over he world and can often be found at the comedy clubs in NYC. He recently did a commercial with Jerry Seinfeld.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at the Ivoryton Playhouse

Tonight is opening night for the play Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at the Ivoryton Playhouse.  If you love such oldies as  Peggy Sue, That'll be the Day, Rave On, Chantilly Lace and Johnny B Goode you will be dancing in the aisles when you leave this show.  It traces the last three years of Buddy Holly's life up until his last concert. The play is both interactive and fun.

This show last I heard was sold out before it opened. It is running from July 7th to August 1. Both Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th are sold out. Saturday, July 17th was almost sold out last I heard and for all I know could be sold out even now.

This show is a local show and was directed by Jacqueline Hubbard.  Gregg Hammer makes his Ivoryton debut as Buddy Holly. Robert W. Schultz Jr  is the Big Bopper, and if you loved him in The Full Monty (which was performed last year at the playhouse in which he played the character Dave) you will love his antics as the Bopper.

All the performers are outstanding, they have lots of energy and they definitely project it to the audience.  I wasn't kidding about dancing in the aisles either, this show is as great as going to see the musical Mamma Mia!. People go back time and time again to see that show, and this show rates just as high. This is a show worth seeing more than once. You can not miss purchasing a ticket to see this show, take my word for it.

Some Enchanted Evening at the Ivoryton Playhouse

Last night I went to the Ivoryton Playhouse and saw Some Enchanted Evening The Songs of Rogers and Hammerstein. Performing in the show is Allan Snyder, Kyle Metzger, Patryce Williams, Jenna Sisson, and Jennifer Lauren Brown. The set design was created by Dan Nischan, lighting design by Doug Harry and costumes by Pam Puente. The show was directed and choreographer by Leslie Unger.

They performed a song or two from such shows as The King and I, Cinderella, South Pacific, Carousel, Oklahoma, Allegro and Flower Drum Song.

All the performers had wonderful voices, and the choreography was fun and playful. The set design was used to help to express the emotion to the song they were performing. If you enjoy the songs of Rogers and Hammerstein don't miss this musical. It opened on April 14th and ends May 2nd. Here is the press release.

Ever since I went to Starbucks and had one of their Red Velvet Cupcakes I have cravings for cupcakes every time I hear the word "cupcake". You should have seen my mouth watering when my niece put on her cupcake top. Then I found out that people made sweets jewelry.

This charm is absolutely deletable and can be bought at this link with any Paypal account for $15. As the creator says "This tiny little cupcake looks so yummy that you just want to pop it in your mouth! ."  This little charm was created by Aubree, a 21-year-old college student who enjoys working with Polymer Clay. Her company is Fatally Feminine Designs. She makes many different types of sweet delectables to make your mouth water if this one is not to your liking. If you happen to be on the other end of the spectrum and are on a diet, at least you can where a sweet as a piece of jewelry and dream.

Silly Socks

Wanted to tell you that I published an article on the television series Touched by An Angel. It just touches my heart how help people when they meet a cross roads.


I also bought some socks which were on sale at shop called Bellwether in Old Saybrook CT.

What is even better how they looked and felt when I put them on.

These socks were so wonderfully soft.

These socks are comfortable but they made me feel like I was an elf or goblin.


And before I finish off and go here is my latest in jewelry.

Trying New Things

2010 is definitely a time of change for many. Change can also include trying new things. As you know I started making jewelry. My boyfriend helped me to create a logo. Here is my card. That and coming up with the name. I am the Curious Bead Keeper when it comes to beading and jewelry and my company is Bead Curiosities.
