I had lunch recently from the Village Bagels in Milford CT. I find Greek food very enticing, so I had a Super Chicken Gyro with an Organic Arizona Green Tea with Honey.
It was very tasty.
The price for the sandwich...
As you see you do have your choice of chicken or lamb with the gyro. The way the sandwich was wrapped it was not messy which made it even more enjoyable.

Cake Pops and The Irish
Have you tried a cake pop today? If you haven't I suggest you get down there right away because this one I had was scrumptious along with a red velvet whoopie cake.
And the Irish...and How They Got That Way was excellent.
Above in the image you will see the cast. Starting from the left is Morgan Crowley, who came from Ireland just for the show, Kathleen Mulready, who was last seen in Finian's Rainbow at the Ivoryton Playhouse, Michael McDermott, who reprised his role from 2007 at the Playhouse, and Annie Kerins.
Morgan Crowley performs an ever so touching Danny Boy, that captures the hearts of the audience. Michael McDermott knocks the audience off their feet as a reporter trying to get an obituary. Annie Kerins and Kathleen Mulready round out the cast to make this St. Patrick's Day that much more green. This show was lots of fun.
Stop by a Starbucks and pick up a cake pop, then book a ticket to see The Irish at the Ivoryton Playhouse.
You'll love them both.

New Cookbook and Fabulous Meal
I am so excited, tomorrow night I am going to the Ivoryton Playhouse to see The Irish...and How They Got That Away. It is based on a book by Pulitzer Prizer winning author, Frank McCourt. Here is the poster.
I also wrote an article on Quora.
Poster provided by The Ivoryton Playhouse |
Here is a picture of the scrumptious meal I made today.
It is Maple-Glazed Pork Chops with Roasted Corn Relish. It is from The Hay Day Country Market Cookbook.
Here is the recipe straight from the book.
and here is the little part that is missing.
The meal was amazing. It tasted wonderful. I did not grow up eating pork chops but they were wonderful, especially with the roasted corn relish.
This cookbook originated from the Hay Day Country Farm in Westport, Connecticut which opened in 1978. This Country Market later became Balducci's. If you like gourmet supermarkets you will like this one. They also make excellent deli sandwiches.
Whip up something new in the kitchen and try something new.

Out to Lunch
Today I went out to lunch in Old Saybrook. I visited Cafe Toscana. The restaurant is located at 25 Main Street near FoodWorks.
In 2001 the restaurant won "Best Carry Out Food:" in Connecticut Magazine.
For lunch I had one of their specials. A cup of corn chowder with a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich on multi grain along with a cup of English Breakfast Tea. I loved the corn chowder.
If you are in the area stop by and sit a spell. Enjoy the atmosphere.

North and South, Ivoryton Playhouse and a Chicken
Image via WikipediaI have been on another hemisphere recently -- because I started watching this old television mini-series North and South Book 1 of North and South: The Complete Collection (Books One, Two & Three). The mini-series originally aired on November 5, 1985. All the actors may be dressed in clothing dating back to the pre-civil war but many of the actors have hair styles of the 1980s. Patrick Swayze who sadly died at the age of 57 of pancreatic cancer.
The Ivoryton Playhouse in Ivoryton Connecticut is celebrating it centennial. With the centennial came a change to the website -- it is now interactive. Here is the link. The first show is The Irish...and How They Got That Way by Frank McCourt.
I recently wrote an article for Triond on Online Recipes and Blogging. I haven't been writing as many articles as I use to.
Tonight I tried making Poulet au Beurre. I found this recipe in this Classic French Cooking cookbook. It did not turn out the way I wanted it to. I will have to try again.
Here is a picture of the failed bird.
Despite the fact that I made a mistake with the recipe and will have to try again. I still am able to make the bird nice and juicy.
Try new things, make mistakes, and have new experiences,
